Presentation design tips
- Visuals should be concise, simple and relevant.
- Use one message per slide.
- Limit the amount of text on each slide. Use main points and keywords.
- Visuals should be readable from the back of the room.
- Use a large font (at least 24 points).
- Choose a simple font, like Helvetica, Arial or Times.
- Avoid use of all capitals.
- Keep slides simple and easy to read.
- Avoid making your slides cluttered.
- Make use of white space.
- Avoid busy backgrounds.
- Use colours that blend well and promote your branding.
- Don’t go overboard on animations and transitions.
- Avoid PowerPoint sound effects.
- Keep each slide design consistent. Use the slide master to set your headings, fonts and bullet points.
